I really enjoyed my lessons with Romano. From the beginning, he understood what I wanted to achieve and adapted the lessons around me rather than just following a textbook. We worked towards my IELTS exam, but the lessons always felt practical and relevant to the way I actually use English.
One of the things I liked most was that Romano never tried to make me speak in a particular way. He helped me find my own way of expressing myself in English, while also showing me how native speakers would naturally say things. That made me much more comfortable speaking and gave me a lot more confidence.
I achieved a 7.5 in my IELTS, which I was obviously really happy with, but I think the biggest change was how much more naturally I can communicate in English now.
I’d definitely recommend Romano to anyone who wants to improve their English and actually feel comfortable using it.

I met Romano at pre-intermediate level and, thanks to him, I moved up to the next level more quickly.
When you’re learning a new language, whoever you are, you’ll always feel nervous about making mistakes, not being understood, or speaking to a native English speaker. To get into the master’s programme, I needed a score of 250 on Duolingo! Romano helped me develop a clear strategy for taking the test. Realising that demonstrating my English skills isn’t the same as answering questions in the traditional way wouldn’t have been possible without his guidance and experience!
On the other hand, my everyday English, slang and Irish expressions are the most fun part of my journey learning this language with Romano.
