Will, going to, and present continuous: three ways to talk about tomorrow.
Will
Structure: Subject + will + base verb
I think it will rain later.
Predictions, promises, and decisions made in the moment.
Going To
Structure: Subject + am/is/are + going to + verb
Look at those clouds: it’s going to rain.
Plans already made, or predictions based on evidence you can see now.
Present Continuous
Structure: Subject + am/is/are + verb-ing + time
I’m meeting Sarah at 6pm.
Fixed arrangements: usually involving another person and a set time.
Quick Test
Structure: Decided now, or already arranged?
“I’ll get that!” (phone rings, instant decision) vs “I’m getting a new phone next week.” (already arranged)
If it’s decided on the spot, use will. If it’s already planned, use going to or present continuous.
